CISV Atlanta Newsletter – Summer 2005
Welcome home everyone! What a great summer it has been. We sent our first Village delegation (Lakwanza Williams, Emily, Michael, Nick, and Kelcie) to Paris, our first J.C. (Tim) to a Village in Springfield, our first official Village staff member (Garry Banning) to Maine, and our first Mini Camp delegation (Jay Stallworth, Kellie, Patrick, Ben, Rishi, Amber, Zain, Rebecca, and Tait Anberg) to Chattanooga, Tennessee. Not bad for our first year.
Now it is time to look ahead. Under the leadership of our Interchange Chair and Vice President, Hilary Leland, we are currently looking for six 14-15 year olds (3 boys, 3 girls) for an Interchange with Graz, Austria. We are also looking for four to eight 11-year olds for possible Village delegations, because when we get back from the National Board Meeting (NBM), held October 27-30, 2005, in Cincinnati, Ohio, we will hopefully be bringing back one or two Village opportunities.
Thank you for all you do to make our CISV Atlanta Area Steering Committee a success for our community. You are the reason we are growing steadily and we are constantly working to create a solid, lasting foundation for our organization. Together we are turning our dreams into reality.
