CISV Atlanta Newsletter – Spring 2005
Our 1st delegation is headed to a village in Paris, France this summer. We are “très enthousiaste!”
Emily, Kelcie, Michael, Nick and I are anxiously awaiting this opportunity to make new friends from all around the world. Representatives from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, France, Israel, Italy, Norway, Sweden and Turkey will be attending this camp.
I am pleased to report that our delegation has already demonstrated that they are well on their way to being ready for this experience. At our last overnight stay, the delegates worked together to prepare their own dinner (tacos) and dessert (brownies). They set the table, buffet style, and cleaned up when they were finished (Yes, even the dishes!). All were mannerly, considerate and patient as we each shared special belongings, music and games that we enjoy. It was a laughing good time for all!
We have tons more work to do to be prepared, but we are looking forward to our next gathering. We have planned an outdoor potluck lunch. Each delegate has selected two of the other village countries to study. We intend to have a grand time learning a little about each place and sharing some of their foods. Among the tasks that we have yet to complete are preparing our National Night presentation, menu and booklets.
À Tout À L’heure!
