Selection Play Days

Every year, CISV Atlanta Area offers domestic and/or international summer programs such as Village, Interchange, Summer Camp, Junior Counselor (to Village), and Seminar Camp.  Program applicants come to Selection Play Days where they participate in activities, are interviewed and observed as part of the selection process, and have lots of fun.  This is mandatory for all applicants.  Applicants bring a snack to share, a sack dinner, sleeping bag, pillow, air mattress or sleeping pad, something comfortable to sleep in (sweats & t-shirt), and a readiness to get silly and have a great time.  Applicants stay from 7:00 p.m. on Friday until 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.

 

The Selection Committee interviews parents of youth delegate applicants, youth delegate applicants, and adult leader applicants.  They then have the difficult task of selecting the participants and leaders for that year’s programs.

 

The Selection Committee Meets to compare notes on interviews and observations and then select program participants and adult leaders for that year’s program.  Once delegates and leaders are chosen, they are then paired up in delegations or assigned to programs.  Applicants are notified about their selection status by phone call and letter within one week (7 days) of Selection Play Days.
