CISV Atlanta Area Chapter History

CISV - Atlanta Area Interest Group held its first meeting on June 6, 2004.  In October of 2004, that Interest Group attended the National Board Meeting in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky.  There they applied for and were graciously granted Steering Committee status by CISV USA’s Board of Trustees.  In the summer of 2005, the CISV Atlanta Area Steering Committee sent a Mini Camp Delegation to Chattanooga, a Village Delegation to Paris, a Junior Counselor to a Village in Springfield, Massachusetts, and a Village Staff member to Maine.  A mere 2 years after becoming a Steering Committee, the CISV Atlanta Area Chapter was lucky enough to be granted Chapter status at the National Board Meeting in October of 2006.
