International Youth Meeting
International Youth Meetings are short regional camps feature individual themes that allow young people to explore intercultural issues in a regional context. The programme reinforces core CISV values, builds leadership and organizational skills, while promoting continued CISV involvement. The Youth Meeting evolved from the mini-camps arranged by many chapters as local work activities for their juniors. These proved so successful that their duration was increased during major school holidays. They became first national and then international, and their programme content was developed accordingly. |

International Youth Meeting - Madrid, Spain - April 2007
“[IYM} was amazing and life-changing. The camp’s theme was equality. The symbol, e = IYM ‘07. I learned a lot about equality in others’ countries like race, drugs, socio-economic status, etc. The big surprise was the trip to the slums of Madrid where immigrants and drug addicts lived. It was very eye-opening and inspiring. I made a lot of new friends that I plan to see again this summer on a trip, in planning, to Europe. I have included a picture from our camp.” (see above)
