Fundraising

Being a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization, CISV Atlanta Area relies on funds from its members, friends, and supporters.  Theltha Yates, our Fundraising Chair, has several ideas to assist our Steering Committee in raising funds necessary to support our programs, scholarship, Junior Branch, and to pay for general costs.  Our tax ID number is 26-0089932.

Please contact Thletha at thlethad@yahoo.com if you would be willing to participate in any of the following fundraisers either by selling , buying, or providing support.

60 for Peace (ongoing / benefits 2008 Village)

Are you an individual, organization, business, or corporation that supports cross-cultural exchange, leadership building, conflict management, and peace-education programs for our youth?  If so, we are looking for sixty of you who would be willing to donate $1000 each to reach our $60,000 goal to host CISV Atlanta Area’s first international Village, bringing 12 countries with delegation of 1 adult leader and 4 eleven-year olds each together for a month out of the summer.

Coffee Fundraiser (ongoing / benefits 2008 Village)

One of our own, Ed Outlaw, came up with our coffee fundraiser.  Purchase freshly roasted, whole bean, gourmet coffee for $10 a pound.  Fifty percent of the proceeds go directly to our Village Fund.  Contact Ed Outlaw outlaw@mindspring.com

Family Movie Nights (quarterly / general & Junior Branch fundraiser)

Come join us for a night at the movies.  We are currently working on this concept with the possibility of a double-feature: kid’s movie (children & families) and then international film (adults).  There will be no charge for the movie, however donations will be accepted, and concessions will be sold by the Junior Branch to support Junior Branch activities.  Bring blankets, sleeping bags, lawn chairs, and be ready for a night at the movies.
